1 - Worn by Command Officers (Commanding Officers & Executive Officers) and Helm Officers. The Captain of a Starship may also wear what is known as a Captain's Vest.
2 - Worn by Operations, Tactical, Security, and all Engineering related departments.
3 - Worn by Medical, Counseling, and Science.
4 - Worn by Starfleet Intelligence officers aboard a starship. The turtleneck portion of the uniform is black but bears the stripes on the edges of the collar and the stripes on the wrists. The colour of these stripes are the colour of the department the officer works in (ie. Command, Operations, Medical.
5- Worn by Starfleet Marine Corps Personnel aboard a Starship.
DUTY UNIFORM -- standard uniform worn by all officers. Color matches the department. See above.
OFF-DUTY UNIFORM -- CO's optional attire for off-duty hours.
ADMIRAL UNIFORM -- standard Flag Officer's uniform.
DRESS UNIFORM -- worn only for special events and ceremonies. All personnel EXCEPT the ship's Commanding Officer wear a violet/gray chest piece as shown above. The Commanding Officer wears a white chest piece.
CADET UNIFORM -- standard uniform worn by cadets in Starfleet Academy and when on field training assignments.
