The USS Malinche is a Proud Member of

USS Malinche (Starfleet Intelligence) Transfer
Application
Email Form
This is the final step towards becoming a
member of the Malinche PBeM community. Nothing personal will be asked
of you except for the month and day of your birth (for newsletter
purposes). Most of the application fields deal with the character you
are creating, and nothing about yourself has to be volunteered unless
you want to do so. You will read later on that the more detailed your
bio, the better rank you will earn. I'd prefer if your bio would be
more detailed and have at least three paragraphs for each segment. If
you would want to write your bio in an e-mail, feel free to send it
to me at PBates@javanet.com.
A Note: In general, super characters are not
preferred. In short, you can't be a half-Q. If you have any questions
on your race, contact me at the above address.
The Form: (all fields must be filled out)
- Full Name:
- Email Address:
- Your Birthday (dd/mm/yyyy):
- Webpage Address (if any):
- How you found us:
- If you have participated in any previous Star Trek RPGs or
simming organizations, please list them, and briefly describe your
experience (i.e. rank(s), position(s), how long you participated):
- About how many hours per week do you spend online?
- About how often do you check your e-mail?
- Do you have IRC (Internet Relay Chat)? [Note: IRC is not
required but it is reccomended.]
- Do you have ICQ? [Note: ICQ is not required but it is HIGHLY recommended. Available for download
free-of-charge at
http://www.mirabilis.com.]
- If so, ICQ #?
- Do you have AIM or AOL? [Note: AIM is not required but it is
recommended.]
- If so, AIM Screen Name?
The following information refers to your
character, not necessarily to the real you. For example, if you are
19, but you want to play a character who is 31, Put 31 in the "age"
question. Also, do not put a rank anywhere. Most new members start as
Ensigns, though some exceptions start as Lieutenants, at the
commanding officer's discretion. However, if you wish to be a
civilian, be sure to write that somewhere. You can use your real name
or a false name. If your character is not human, a false name is
reccomended. After all, when's the last time you saw a Vulcan named
Jonathan Walters?
The more information you include and the better
the spelling and grammar, the more likely it is that you will be
given a higher rank. If your application is sloppy and marred with
errors, it will impact the CO's first impression of you and your
character, likewise if the application is neat.
You may not pick a name or character that has the
same name or is related to a genuine Star Trek character. Any
applications like that will be rejected and returned. Also, you may
not be a member of any species that is hostile towards the
Federation. -- without an exceptionally good app.
And, as always, you can never go 'too long' on an
attribute. You /can/ go too short.
- Character Name:
- Character Age:
- Character Sex:
- Character Species:
- Physical Description of the character:
- In this field, describe how your character looks (height,
weight, hair/eye color, any distinguishing marks s/he may
have.... anything pertinent to this aspect of your character).
Be descriptive here...
- Psychological Description of the character:
- In this field, give a brief description of your character:
how does s/he think and act? What are his/her beliefs and
fears? Anything that helps you and your fellow crewmates dive
into his/her psyche will be greatly appreciated. Interests?
Languages spoken? Hobbies?
- Personal History of the character:
- In this field, describe your character's life before
joining your selected service. This may be as detailed or as
simple as you wish, but if you're aiming for a senior position,
I'd recommend a minimum of three heavy paragraphs. Recommended
details: family, why/when they joined their current service
installation, marriage, children, etc.
- Character's Service Record (if any) before joining the
Malinche:
- List your character's previous service positions. The same
applies here as above: if you are applying for a senior
position, don't expect your character to have made Chief of
anything in two or three years. If your character is fresh out
of training, list the training facility and how his performance
there. However, NEVER assume rank in this section. Your rank
will be assigned to your character by the GM
There you go... just email this to Pbates@javanet.com -- and make sure you mention 'Malinche' in the
subject of the email.
