FAMILY BACKGROUND
Born into a family who was deep in samurai history. Her father was Kendaii Dayspring, who served valiantly in the Japanese military before getting a strategic advisor's position. Her mother was Enaya Dayspring, a practicing ninja who retired to the local temple. Sorrenta had one twin sister, Yukia, whose whereabouts are unknown. She was raised in a classic Japanese family with hard rules and traditions. As such, she was prone to much physical injury and training.

Sorrenta has an odd way of looking at things. She looks at them from the cold and clinical viewpoint of a ninja. It is not that she is not good at what she does, but she is common to incorporate samurai or ninja techniques into her marine regimen. She hangs out by herself, often speaks Mandarin Chinese or Japanese when in public rather than Standard, and revolves her life around training and victory. She can be a pain in the rear to everyone and sometimes thinks the world is not worth her time, but if someone takes the time to understand her she will often repay them in kind. She has the nickname of "Si" by old friends but prefers it only be used by those who she allows. Otherwise, she is commonly referred to as the "Crimson Daughter."
STARFLEET RECORD
Sorrenta was at the Academy for four months as a security cadet before being expelled. She had notorious reprimands for insubordination, threats, and petty violence on her record, having a short temper and a narrow mind. She parted inamicably with the fleet, retaining the attitude that fleeters were lower than her kind. If she is at a function with many fleet members, she will often stay away, lest she cause trouble.
After parting from the Academy she enlisted in the Marines, where her trainer, Staff Sergeant Aris Wynn, saw much potential in the fiery Asian. She served in Insertion and Extraction as a Corporal and Sergeant at Starbase 116 under Wynn, who honed her skills and introduced her to he rough world of a Marine which suited Dayspring quite well. She used her quick mind and talent to save many lives even if it meant breaking rules in the process. Rules were suggestions to the maverick officer. Despite the slow piling of reprimands and a short prison sentence for brutally beating Captain Connor Catherton, who sexually harassed her on the USS Sidewinder, she rose through the ranks at various assignments, attended OCS and became an officer, and had a run at special operations. She is now a Captain on her way to the Malinche.
